Oblig\u00e9 de fuir l\u2019Allemagne nazie, puis l\u2019Italie fasciste et l\u2019URSS stalinienne, il s\u2019installe en Suisse. Boulevers\u00e9 par les horreurs de la Deuxi\u00e8me Guerre Mondiale, dans laquelle il a perdu une grande partie de sa famille, il lui faut renoncer \u00e0 la composition et il d\u00e9cide de se consacrer uniquement \u00e0 la direction. Naturalis\u00e9 Suisse, il a l\u2019honneur d\u2019\u00eatre choisi pour succ\u00e9der \u00e0 Ernest Ansermet \u00e0 la t\u00eate de l\u2019Orchestre de la Suisse Romande en 1967, ann\u00e9e o\u00f9 il enregistre avec la Philharmonie Tch\u00e8que une int\u00e9grale des Symphonies de Beethoven tr\u00e8s remarqu\u00e9e. Istomin avait fait sa connaissance en Am\u00e9rique, lorsque Paul Kletzki fut directeur musical du Dallas Symphony de 1958 \u00e0 1961. Il le retrouva \u00e0 deux <a style=\"font-size:0;\" href=\"http:\/\/pharmacie-ed.net\/Levitra.html\">http:\/\/pharmacie-ed.net\/Levitra.html<\/a> reprises dans les ann\u00e9es suivantes, \u00e0 Montreux et \u00e0 Paris, pour des concerts de haute vol\u00e9e. Paul Kletzki \u00e9tait un accompagnateur hors pair, son entente avec Istomin \u00e9tait naturelle.
